Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup Christmas sprinkles

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, and mix until combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool on a cooling rack.
  • For the cream cheese frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
  • Once the cookies are cooled, spread a dollop of cream cheese frosting on each cookie and generously sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles.
