Roasted Shiitake Mushrooms
Shiitake mushrooms are tender and savory; these mushrooms are roasted with their natural earthy and umami flavor in the oven. It acquires a slight crisp outside when roasted, though still tender and juicy inside. The common seasoning would be olive oil, salt, pepper, and sometimes garlic or herbs to enhance their already rich taste. Roasting brings out the perfect side dish, salad topping, or a heavy-satiating snack or appetizer of shiitake mushrooms. The earthy and somewhat smoky flavor from roasting agrees with many types of cuisine.
